A family gathering in Munich Germany brought together eleven relatives to celebrate this auspicious occasion. Anna Gindin Ninburg, Bunya Mayoff's daughter, born in 1909, celebrated her ninetieth birthday on August 15th, 1999. Surrounded by her dedicated family, Anna enjoyed being the center of attention. Anna has an apartment of her own and with the help of the Aron & Rimma Gindin, Galya & Sasha Grashov and Rita and Sasha Sokolinskaia families, her life is rather enjoyable. In April of this year, I had the opportunity to speak with Anna. Through real-time translation by Mila Elperin it was quite obvious to me that this matriarch of the Bunya branch surely is as sharp as a tack. Strong willed and with an acute memory, she spoke of a number of family members and expressed her pleasure of having had the opportunity to learn about her cousins through the newsletter. She also extended an invitation to have us visit. I felt honored to have been able to converse with her and look forward to meeting her.
