Mayoff Day 1998

About 40 friends joined in the singing and the rest of the celebration.

When we grew up and lived in Chicago we never thought of Italian Beef as a delicacy. But when we left Chicago we found out that Italian Beef is a dish that is unique to Chicago. Neither Italians nor anyone else outside of Chicago has ever heard of it. And as the years go by without being able to get it, it becomes more and more desirable.

Turns out that they do sell it in freezer packs at O'hare airport in Chicago, so I have been taking advantage of all the business traveling I do by with airplane connections in Chicago and carrying packages home. It was a tremendous success, both with former Chicagoans and with those that never tasted it before. Of course the frozen bellini's helped too!

I'd never had a bellini before the night of the party, but the frozen drink machine people have recommended them for years. We're all glad we tried them. Peach schnapps, champagne, rum - what's not to like? We even saved the left-overs and now have a freezer full of bellini-cicles

Hope everyone else had a great Mayoff Day.

Mayoff Day 1998

(Sung to the tune Disney's Mickey Mouse Theme,

Lyrics by Doug Frasier)

What's the year's best holiday

That's made for you and me?

M-A-Y O-F-F it is Mayoff Day!

Mayoff Day . . . Mayoff Day. . .

Mayoff Day. . . Mayoff Day. . .

Forever hold your margaritas high

High, high, high, high

Sip a bit and sing the song and join the jubilee!

M-A-Y O-F-F it is Mayoff Day!

Mayoff Day, it's . . . Mayoff Day, now

Mayoff Day, it's Mayoff Day, now . . .

Munch a cookie, hug a friend and sing a verse off-key!

M-A-Y O-F-F it is Mayoff Day!

Mayoff Day . . . Bernie's Day . . .

Mayoff Day . . . Denise's Day . . .

Forever hold your margaritas high

High, high, high, high

Sip a bit and sing the song and join the jubilee!

M-A-Y O-F-F it is Mayoff Day!

M-A-Y O-F-F it is Mayoff Day!

M-A-Y?

Because we love Denise's Chocolate Chips!

O-F-F?

And IF they run out, we'll have to go home!

Happy Mayoff Day!
